In case you don’t want to read through the entire thread, we are going to have an SK Day on September 23rd & the 24th. On those days, there will be an across the board discount on all SK products (5 to 20%) on our website. However, I would encourage people to not just participate in the event to get a discount, but to participate in the discussion as well. This event isn’t just about nationalistic support for a US manufacturer, but a show of support for companies that make and distribute great quality products in a humane, sustainable way.

FINALLY got my SK 86017 wrench set delivered last week! Ordered it on SK day 5 months ago. I've had half this drawer sitting empty now it is finally complete 
Unfortunately, even after waiting 5 months for a newly made set, it is not without problems (this is the 2nd time I have ordered 86017 and both times I have had problems... ironically both times with the 9/16 wrench size). The 9/16 wrench is 6-point box end and not 12-point like it is supposed to be. Will get back in contact with HJE or SK and see how I can get a replacement. Last time I ordered the wrench set from Zoro the 9/16 was missing altogether, instead I got a 13mm.

The tool brand specific events tend to be somewhat spontaneous to agree upon, but take a few months to organize with a manufacturer. The member who does most of the organizing for these things has been on a self imposed sabbatical. Not sure when/if he'll be back. Events like this need the moderator's approval in order to use the GJ name.
You can likely expect Jori from Harry Epstien's to do the annual HJE Day on the 4th of July. But I haven't heard any talk about it yet, too early.

July 4th is the annual Harry J. Epstein day. It's not manufacturer specific, but usually a few manufacturers send some small tools/shirts to give to those who buy their products on that day.
We've done Wilde in the past, and SK more recently (last two years). A couple of people have asked for a Wright day, but it hasn't ever taken off.
Being a huge SK fan myself, I'd love to see SK get the support, but I know I already have a lot of what I need from SK, and I bet those who have participated the last two years also do. They do have some cool products in the pipeline that might be released and persuade enough people to have another SK day. It also might be nice to see if people are interested in Wright this time, or even another manufacturer if possible.
Usually sometime after July 4th is when the very earliest people start thinking about it, so might have to stick around a bit to find out what we end up doing.

Oh dang I didn't think anyone else was still waiting on things. I know it took a little longer to get the metal box sets out.. but mine arrived at the end of July.It's hard to say. I just got my shirt on... Friday? But that was due to a shipping mixup.
I know they've been back ordered on wrenches for awhile. I bought a metric combo set and had to send it back for warranty, and I've been waiting since June. I guess they're updating the plant in Colorado causing the delays.

Same here but I think it was a custom made set for Epstein Day so SK had to do some minor tweaking to their routine production.

No, July 4th. HJE Day. I'm in no hurry whatsoever but one has to wonder why it would take so long to fill an order from SK. They knew about it in advance and should have been a leg up on the promotion. None of this is HJE fault. This just reminds me of how my former employer did business shortly before they went out of business. Hope the outcome is different.
