SK Impact Sockets

If this has been covered (and I'm sure it has) I apologize but I can't Search SK because it's less than 3 letters. Anyway.

I'm wondering how you guys feel about SK impact sockets. I'm looking at these sets:

I have some and the held up good. They used to be extra thick and heavy but they are normal size at this time.

Oh boy, are the ones I have thick!!! They are about three or four times as thick as my Craftsman, Matco, and Bonney impact sockets. I have had them for a number of years, though, and I haven't had any trouble with them at all. They are just too heavy compared with my others, though.

i think CMAN will be better priced and warranty will be easier (in the rare occasion you should need it).

I'm debating still because I have had bad luck with SK quality in the past. Everything I have read on the forum says the SK impacts are pretty good, no issues to speak of. (BTW, you can search "SK*" on the forum)

For 1/2" drive, I agree with Krusty on the Craftsman suggestion. I have them and I like them. For 3/8" drive, I'm considering the SK because they don't have the 'cone' design of the Craftsman and should fit in tighter spots.

I have the deep and shallow combo kit in both metric and SAE, As well as a set of flip sockets, 1/2 inch drive impact extensions and a couple swivels. All are great, I have only broken one swivel, oddly enough, have broken more snap on's than the SK. The impact sockets are definitely a steal because they are damn near truck quality (and maybe better for all I know) for far less. No problems to date, still tickin'.


I wouldn't hesitate, they are great. Id say pass the Craftsman's because they skip too many of the larger sizes.

I have the largest deep sets in metric and standard, also that 3/8ths set. I have no complaints.

True, they are sold by independent tool trucks but, I don't consider them a tool truck brand because they aren't exclusively sold off of trucks and they can be found in several retail stores. As a kid in California, almost every pro auto parts store sold SK as their tool line.

their dealers are not required to handle warranty.........
