SK Knurled Sockets

I have an older set of SK 1/2 drive Sockets where the base is knurled and a 1/4 set of SK sockets that have knurling as well.
None of my 3/8 drive SK sockets have knurling on them.

Looking through Alloy artifacts and E-bay I did not see any 3/8 sockets that are knurled. Did they not make a knurled 3/8 drive socket when they were putting knurling on them?

The sockets they made for Kraeuter had a narrow knurled ring at the bottom, however, I have never heard of them making SK sockets in 3/8 size with the knurled pattern. Strange, isn't it. If they would release a "retro" series of 3/8 sockets with knurling and flank drive, it would make me almost as happy as the red dress girl.

I find it rather strange as well.
The good news is I just saved some money and time not having to try and get a set of 3/8ths that are knurled.

"happy as the red dress girl" is a saying I am not familiar with.

I know girls in red dresses make me happy. Granted not as happy as girls with no dress on, but happy.

I have a 1961 set, 1/2dr and 1/4dr sockets have the knurled base, the 3/8dr does not. After the name change to SK-Wayne, the knurling was phased out.

I have a 3/4" drive Heinz 57 socket set. I have a couple of vintage SK, and they are knurled also. I bought the set in 1980, and they were old then.

only one I can think of off hand is my 3/8" drive spark plug socket that has the knurling.

3/8 never featured the knurling...other than the spark plug sockets. Love my vintage knurled 1/2 drive SK set!

Well I'll be..........never noticed. I have 8 or so full sets of S-K in various boxes. The pic shows all my "extra" 3/8 drive sockets, left to right starting at 7/16. You appear to be correct, no knurling on any of them. Odd. BTW, if anyone needs to fill a gap in a set, I have a few S-K sockets
