I ordered one yesterday, it will be my first SK 90. My ratchets are SK round heads and Dual 80s. I really didn’t need another 1/2 ratchet, but the price was right. I’m curious to see how it compares to the Snap-On.

If it is anything like the 3/8" I just got you will be very dissapointed. Hopefully mine was just a dud and yours is better. I saw the sale as well and would have jumped on one but one SK ratchet for me is one too many. My Icon and Tekton Ratchets are much smoother with 1/2 the back drag. Good luck with yours.

Mine arrived yesterday. Quite nice on first impressions.

Seems the first generation of LP90's didn't get quite enough lube. If it doesn't feel quite right, pop it open and a little SuperLube will do wonders.

I’m sorry to hear that, I’m rather fond of SK and hope they do well.

I felt the same way, even got a rebuilt kit from SK which improved it but I found a pawl spring from a gearwrench 60T 3/8 makes the back drag and the selector change force much lower and has made it a better ratchet so far.

Good deal!

Just a heads up. If you register for a FREE membership, you get free shipping over $50. A paid membership gives you free shipping on any purchase amount and other stuff like socket of the month.

That socket of the month has got me an almost complete 3/8 SAE socket set :)

And i just bought the long pattern metric side for 50 or 60 bucks in the steals and deals section

If you join the free SK club, shipping is free over 50.00

This! Free shipping is always FedEx, and on my doorstep in two days.

Plus, SK email spam is good spam. There's almost always some coupon code for something on their site.

The LP90 stuff seems to garner a love/hate thing, but I've been pleased with all of the SK tools that I've purchased of late.

Thanks for the heads up, didn't need another ratchet but that's too good to pass up.

Ryan,

This! Free shipping is always FedEx, and on my doorstep in two days.

I also got the membership recently.

Ordered my first free socket on Tuesday, and the ratchet and a couple of other items on Wednesday. My orders shown "pending" and no shipping notice received. Do your orders always come quickly?

Thanks, Bruce

Got a very nice reply to my email:

I apologize for the delay in getting your tracking information entered.

Please lee your order status below and let us know if there is anything else you need.

One order arrived yesterday (free socket of the month), and the other is on the truck for delivery today. Looking forward to seeing the ratchet.

Was trying to convince myself I didn’t need this. In reality I don’t use 1/2 inch very much outside of impacts and impact guns. Checked today and the screaming deal is still alive and well. Now one is coming home. Thanks again GJ for helping me spend my money.

My order came in, very happy.

The dead blow was red in the steals and deals, and arrived green. I like it.

Ratchet is very smooth.

Going to put the crimpers to work on a boat wiring project, I have a few crimpers, don't like any of them.

I like my 24" flex better than my 15" flex. I bought the 24 one about 3 months later and SK seemed to have fixed the joint in that time. The 15" gets floppy once you go back 30 degrees off center. The 24 is tight all the way through.

Other than that issue, neither ratchet has skipped a beat and I have used the 24 on some tight bolts.

I did see a guy swap the handles on a 17" breaker bar and the 15" ratchet. It looks great with a knurled handle. Both of my SK breaker bars are older and use a pin instead of a screw or I would have done the same thing.

Same deal with mine, replaced the split washer with about 6 or 7 wave springs with the same OD. Feels perfect, slightly stiffer compared to my SO 1/2 flex. Springs cost around 6 dollars off McMaster. Can’t forget the extra glob of superlube too make the clicks extra smooth.
