Its good if your occasionally buying odd things here and there, it gets you free shipping, plus the occasional promo code for decent savings sent to your email.

And the free socket every month is cool.

I figure 12 free sockets for $50 is probably not a bad deal by itself. There is some amount of value there, but you can still easily find as good or better prices elsewhere on the web.

I just received my December free socket and they sent me a free SK hat and a pocket screwdriver. I get a socket a month and every order has free shipping. Starting Monday they have 40% off everything too. After 6 months I've already received at least triple my original $50.00 dues. For me it is worth it. When you sign up and pay you get 25% off. You can get better prices at Harry J's (about 35-40% lower)when you need bigger orders and fill out your socket sets for free from SK.

What sockets have ya received? Deep, Mid, Shallow, Impact, 12 point, 6 point, Size (Metric-SAE). Can ya list what ya got every month. So I can better understand what to look forward to before signing up also. I'm interested in signing up for the SK Members program also.

They basically have most all their sockets on the list to choose from

1/4, 3/8, 1/2 drive, 6 point, or 12 point, deep, shallow, etc. You get to pick one socket, add to cart, go through checkout process, add a promo code that they send you by email, about 3-5 days later I get mine via Fed-Ex.

I've been working on 12 point 1/4" drive deep sockets. I've got everything from 5mm through 14mm(5,5.5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14mm). My craftsman sets only have 6 point sockets in 1/4" drive. I just started on 3/8" drive got a 6 point deep 5/16" and the free hat and screwdriver came with it. They have 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" drive sizes in 6 point and 12 point. Shallow and deep metric and sae, chrome and impacts. New sizes are added as they are available. So far the same sockets every month plus any new sizes they add. You can put together a complete set of each if you live long enough:lol_hitti

You get your choice of 1 socket. It is shipped for free by FedEx. So you get 12 sockets per year. Most sockets are between $11.00 and $20.00 if purchased at list price. They also send you some sale coupons. Any time you order you get the shipping for free no matter what or when you order.

Another neat thing I noticed is when I review a tool they send me a personal email thanking me and they are on the ball in answering any questions. Just a great company.

I wounded if you can sign up for multiple memberships to get several sets completed in a year. And if it's worth it or just to buy the sets out right.

I've still never gotten a free socket... I think my membership is almost up. I look at the list when I get the email and go I don't know what I need, I don't want to waste it until I go through all my stuff. And then I get the next email the next month and the cycle repeats. Maybe if I remember tomorrow morning I'll go figure out what socket I need and order one this time! The odds are against me however.

Also that's cool about the hat. Hats are usually good swag.

Aside from that, I'm kind of on the fence about whether it's worth renewing. The discounts are "meh" and the free socket choices are a bit limited... but I'm using it to build up a 12pt set.

I don't think you can get 2 memberships unless you have another member of your family sign up.

I also place a lot of importance in that SK is an American company employing American workers and keeping the money in America. I will pay more for that. It took guts to get SK going again amidst all the import tool companies competition. And the fact that they are producing high quality tools is another reason I support them.

Got the membership and was wondering why I did not get any emails from them. Checked my spam folder and was there. Got my 25% off coupon and the thank you for your order but did not see the email for the Socket of the Month. So my question is should I have got it and when do they normally send them. On a side note got a few things on the 40% off holiday promotion.

SK sends out a socket of the month email on the 5th of every month. In that email is a promotional code for the free socket and a link to the "Socket of the Month" page where you make your selection. I got mine on 5 December so you should have received yours. If not email customer service and they'll resend it.

If you signed up too long after the 5th you will get the email in the following month. That is what happened to me. You will still get 12 sockets per year.
