Picked up this sweet set of 1/4" standard sockets, ratchet drive, extension, and box today. The seller did not know what it was worth due to me getting it for 15 dollars. Also had an extra old craftsman extension, snap on socket, and some sort of tap that is unbranded. This will be a cool set to start a vintage tool collection.

My SK ratchet is my favorite. It always has been.

Does that set have some square drive or 8 point sockets?

Check to see if that rod with the knurled end [it is S-K] will fit into the hole in the flex head [breaker]. If so it belongs with that set, but it may be for a 3/8" breaker. The diameter can't be determined by the pic.
Nice set at a good price.

Others will be along to comment too, but I think that's a really nice little set. Good score. I'm not sure, but I think the rod in the 2nd picture is for putting through the breaker bar handle for more torque. That's a nice way to start a vintage collection.

Ok, I'll say it: You ****. Great deal, over here you couldn't even touch the empty box for $15. I wouldn't put that set in a collection, I would put that set to work. Try it, you'll like it.

I love my little 1/4" set. As can be seen the ratchet finish doesn't match the flat-finish of the other tools. That's because the original ratchet was in a '54 Chevy truck that was stolen. I found another S-K 1/4" to replace it, but I never saw the truck again.

Hi Jango,
I have been working on some wartime S-K 1/4" drive sets and could use the dark finish ratchet that came with your postwar set. In exchange I would send you an excellent early chrome plated diamond logo ratchet for your set. Please PM if you are interested. Thanks!
