SK ratchet 40970 1/4" drive. Took it apart for cleaning and dropped the pin that goes into the smaller piece shown. What would be the SK repair kit needed for replacement part of parts? Is there a spring under the pin as well?

Thanks

Call SK, awesome customer service in my experience. Hopefully that hasn't changed.

Get a magnet on a stick and see if you get lucky and find the piece first if nothing else is wrong with the ratchet. Kit will take a few days to arrive so it might be worth wasting 10 minutes first.

It's hard to tell without the rest of the parts there to see orientation but if that's the internal selector I'd imagine it's just a pin, springs and bearings would be in the actually pawl assembly. Could be wrong though, haven't disassembled a 1/4 beyond just pulling the head out for degunking and inspection.

The rebuild kit shows as spring in the internal selector with a pin. SK won't have parts until September.

Will try the magnet trick and look on ebay.

S-K will not have something to sell until September and people wonder why S-K *****, has always sucked and will continue to **** no matter who owns them which by the way changes every 5-10 years or so. Hell, it only took them two years to finally come out with the X-frame non-reversible ratcheting wrenches. Four months for a rebuild kit. Consider yourself lucky.

Looked at the kits and found the piece in orientation. Was thinking it might've been a set pin to keep the assembly together but you're talking about the pawl assembly pin and spring for sure. Did notice the spring is preinstalled on the kits so it might be seated well so I'd check the hole and confirm whether it shot off or is just recessed.

Here's one.

You could also get the drop in 120 tooth upgrade kit. I have one in mine and like it, but I wouldn't pay $30+ for it. I think mine was about $15 when I bought it from Circle C when they carried SK back in the day three years ago.
