I don't think they stopped making those? They have been using the same round head design for 70+ years so why would they stop? Probably just the 3rd party has 14 left in stock. Or I could be wrong, who knows?

Let me know where you find it in SK's current catalog.

I know there are people out there that still love the old SK roto. Well I just came across this and there are 14 left. I can only assume NOS.

Edit: I forgot the link, and yes I know the title is misspelled... one to many captain and cokes mixed with auto correct

Thanks. Couldn't stop myself--been looking for this for a while.

Seems like a fair enough price. I saw one on ebay a while back asking 80+. Seeing as I found a perfect condition round head S-K 3/8 ratchet for $1.50 at a pawn shop a few months ago, I've now got 2 classics for $52.

Edit to add: of course, now on ebay I see them from $25-35. But they look beat up.

You got me. It's puzzling that they would get rid of rotos. I would think it wouldn't be that much of a hassle to make them since they are the same as the regular round heads besides the roto part. That's what I get for making assumptions. :lol_hitti

Yeah it's funny I don't know why they discontinued the ratchet type they invented! Other companies are making money selling their design.

If I hadn't already gotten one I'd pay that $50 in a heart beat!!
Sadly I was looking for some other SK goodness when I stumbled upon it.

I don't need a new one however I just met an S-K dealer several weeks ago. Unicorn as some would say. Someone else brought up this ratchet to him in conversation and I told him they need to bring it back because people WILL buy it. Get them deals guys.

They are a great ratchet. Bought a used custom hard handled one for around what those are going for (IIRC). Grab them while you can!

EDIT: Looks like they are 'unavailable' now.

I've seen the Tuff1 version, I'd like to give it a try. For the time being I snagged an older SK roto off the 'bay after I saw them here, had never seen one in person before. Mine has the SK in a diamond, guy I bought it from claimed he bought it new in the mid to late 60s.

It is twice as smooth as my 2 other SK 45170s. Not often used but very handy.

That was fast. I let the boss know about this excitement for the Rotos. Cucumbers at a women's prison. Haha.

Dude, SK brings back the roto, I'd be on it.
I saw this post, followed the link. Too slow.

Even better, slap a green and black SK logo comfort handle on it!

To my knowledge if you want a USA made quality Roto head there's only S•K and Snap On and Snap On wants $150 something bucks. Maybe I'm forgetting one?

Mine shows to be shipped already as of this morning. Kinda wish I'd ordered two. I wonder who bought the rest of them all at once, you know it was someone on here.
