For some reason I really don't like the looks of them. Do they have pear shaped ones that don't flex. As thats all that I seem for find

Any SK round head ratchets you don't like can be sent to me and I'll dispose of them safely for you.![]()
I was just using my S-K round ratchet that I bought at K-mart in 1975. It's been my main-go-to 3/8 ratchet at home for all these years, and it is still just as good as the day I bought it-no problems, never been apart. Looks ain't everything.
SK pear heads are to be introduced at some point, but I don't believe SK has provided a firm date.
Same here. I have 1/4, 3/8,1/2 and bent handle swivel head 3/8. Work perfectly, never apart, probably bought them in the 60's or 70's. Double pawl, bullet proof.Parts available. The heads are a little bigger than my old round head Williams, that I like as well. I am not a tooth counter or miss the thumb reversal.
I like them minus that my 3/8 is much thicker than all my other ratchets
This thread caused me to go dig out mine....They were my go to rats for many years...until i switched to QR rats because i got tired of fighting with greasy sockets....i still love them..but they are retired to the home box...
Maybe it's just me, but I think SK shines in 1/4" and 1/2". The fine 60 tooth design of the 1/4" is silky smooth and the 1/2" are robust and strong. For 3/8" though, I prefer a dual 80.
I 100% agree with you on this. 1/4 and 1/2 SK in my opinion cannot be beat. Nothing wrong with the 3/8 , just not as great. I modded my 24 inch 1/2 breaker bar and turned it into a ratchet by taking the head of the 17 inch flex head ratchet. The thing is a beast, try it is awesome. Much better than the long snappy and new MAC ratchets.

And before the SKs..These Craftsman FT round heads got alot of use..I got them in 85..as a HS graduation present..and they seen alot of use before getting retired to the home box....I think they are the only Cman ratchets to ever be made in Japan....can anybody confirm..or deny that...?? They kinda seem like SK knockoffs..
I think the Craftsman tri-wing ratchets were made in Taiwan, not Japan.
