SK Socket Rails - Where to find?

Greetings all! I've been getting my SK stuff in sets that come in the blow-molded green cases but need rails for my sockets. I contacted SK and they state the rails aren't available separately. I'd really like to get the green SK rails 'cause I just like keeping my stuff fairly homogeneous. I did see that Wilmar has some green rails that are similar, but appears the green is only for 1/4" drive. Thanks for any input!

The green plastic rails were made by VIM for the pre Ideal owned SK. You really can't find them in decent lengths.

However, Epstein's sells the same rail and plastic clips branded Wright in assorted lengths in red (SAE) or blue (MM). When the rail is loaded with sockets, you really can't see the brand anyway. :dunno:

You could also get the black/grey version from Craftsman, or the black versions from Cripe branded Kobalt.

NAPA/Carlyle sells green rails:

15-inch: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...der-Rail-1-4-3-8-1-2-/_/R-CHQSR15G_0168139776

Clips:

3/8-inch: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...eplacement-Clip-3-8-/_/R-CHQSR38RC_0410678503

1/2-inch: http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...eplacement-Clip-1-2-/_/R-CHQSR12RC_0410678501

They also come in red and blue, matching what seems to be an attempt at standardizing amongst several tool makers/sellers (blue = metric, red = SAE, green = specialty (like Torx, etc.))

I've picked up a fair amount of these rails, for all of my socket stuff that won't fit on my Hansen-style trays. They seem pretty sturdy, and the clips are pretty good - decent retention while not being too loose/too snug.

These are a different style than the GearWrench ones, and are not compatible (can't swap clips between the two styles).

From a Google Image Search, the NAPA/Carlyle rails look very much like the rails SK was putting out.

Thanks all for the prompt and very useful replies! The NAPA rails are perfect and you can't beat the price, not to mention clips in bags of 25. Done and done, I'm gonna have a happy toolbox! As a vintage aircraft mechanic I work in the planes from a GI-style canvas tool bag to keep things from disappearing into the tail, and good socket rails are an absolute necessity. Plus it helps moving what I need for the day between tool box and tool bag.

I wish I'd have seen them a few weeks ago.
I might have to replace some of the metal rails I just bought...

A reminder that the Napa/Carlyle rails are slightly narrower than the SK/Wright/etc rails so clips do not interchange. Carlyle clips can be forced on the Wright rails, but its not pretty.

The Napa/Carlyle clips are slightly narrower and will fit fairly well on some of the metal rails for a "hybrid" clip rail set.

Have fun!
