For those who don't like "look what I found" posts about used tools, I do apologize. You may wish to skip this one. :)

Last weekend I posted about a huge Parker vise which I got beat out on at an auction. However, I did get the only other tool offering there, (or at least the only other tool item which was of any interest to me). It was an older SK Wayne socket/ratchet set, in the metal box.

The sockets were mostly Craftsman, with five SK Wayne sockets among them. But one of the deep well SK's was split, along with the only New Britain socket in the box. But I noticed both of those before I bid. The big deep well on right is a Wright brand, the next one is that split New Britain, and all others are either Cman or SK.

The ratchet and the extension are both clearly marked SK. The ratchet works beautifully. I don't know how well the metal box will clean up, and I need to dig out all the SK sockets I've been buying lately, to see if I can complete this set. (Does anyone know what the exact contents of this box should have been?)
Oh, I almost forgot. My winning bid was $10. Not fabulous, but it made me feel a little better about missing out on that big Parker vise.

After this auction, my son and I stopped at one of our favorite flea markets, where I found a few good buys. It's past my bedtime now, but I'll make another post with those tools tomorrow, I hope.

You could try repainting. Here's a little S-K tote box I repainted:

No an exact match of the original green, but the metalflake isn't too bad.
