My name is Dan and this is the first time I have posted on the forum. In the last few months my main hobby has been cleaning restoring and organizing tools. Between my dad And two grandfathers I’ve had no problem Keeping myself entertained. One thing I decided to go above and beyond with is my dad’s 1970s SK 3/8 socket set. The box was pretty beat up and needed a lot of TLC. The original plastic insert was pretty beat up and anytime the box was moved around the sockets would become. I Decided to make a few modifications to prevent this from happening and added space to the layout so I could include craftsman Metric pieces in the set. I laid out all of the pieces I wanted to include and made a metal Divider to go in the box to keep everything separated and organized. Once my Body and prep work was completed I Spot weld in the new dividers in place. After Everything was painted I cut a few scrap pieces of toolbox drawer liner to fit in the bottom. Everything came together pretty well and I think it turned out OK. I’ll have a few more of these projects coming soon. Feel free to tell me what you think.
