Last set of sockets I bought from SK were the last SK set I'll buy.

The hex key bits are the wrong size. You read that correctly. Not a typo. SAE hex bits do not fit the fasteners of that size. My old Craftsmen ones and the new Tekton set I bought to replace the SK fit fine. The SAE six-point sockets are similarly odd sized.

I didn't catch this until quite a while after I purchased them so I don't really have any recourse.

Paid a lot. Tried to buy US quality.

Tekton is my new go-to.

I have one SK hex head in my misc hex head sockets. The socket is like 8mm but the tip necks down to 6mm. There is a set screw that hold the 8mm. It goes back maybe 45 years I think. The steel is softer than a high end snapon one.
