If I wanted a pair of safety wire pliers which should I get? Never done it before but will in the future. Automotive usage here, going to build a FFR among other things.

Ive had the "6 piece precision pliers set" in my basket at HJE and SK several times and removed them because >$100 was more than I wanted to spend... glad I waited! $87.99
And at $35, I can afford to have a nice 3/8 ratchet in the road box now too.

Did my part to help. Bought a few ratchets, a new style 11" flex to go with my old school round head flex. The short 1/4" flex ratchet, which I actually needed. The 37" pry bar X 2, one for at home and one for work and a zipper hoodie which I love wearing on cooler days.

Happy fathers day to us and non fathers can celebrate tool buying too.

"Coming Soon" - patiently waiting for the 9 mm x 10 mm Metric Short Deep Offset Box End Chrome Wrench because i bought the set that was 11mm and up last time around, but could not stomach $40 for the single wrench.
Right next to the "coming soon" 9x10 is another 9x10 that looks identical and is available. I actually ordered it for the same reason. Are they different?

EDIT - looks like they are. The coming soon is 12pt the available is 6 pt. I guess my set is 12 point and my new one is 6 point. :)

Bought essentially a full set of the 6 point deep offset metric wrenches. I don't need them now, but when I do I'd be stuck with overpriced low quality stuff from a local store. Picked up the 1/2" fixed ratchet, I bought the 3/8" a while back and its soooo much nicer than the Chinese Craftsman I've been using since I got my first car.

Also got the 6 pack of wipes, good reviews and they were like 75% off. Hopefully they are decent. I've recently had reason to acquire and use a grease gun and the stuff gets all over everything no matter what I do.

I'd like to jump in on this sale and pick up some of these high-regarded American-made tools, but... what do you all tend to use your offset wrenches and deep offset wrenches for? I have some rusty old Craftsman ones in a toolbox in the basement and I never bother to dig them out...

edit- did a little reading and I’m sold on the shorty deep offsets. It’s cool that I can pick 6-point for the smaller ones and 12-point for the larger ones, where there’s less risk of rounding a head.

at this point I’m wondering where to spread my shipping cost over a ratchet or two as well.

I picked up 3 Ratchets one of each size for $112 with tax and free shipping. That is a great deal for a USA made ratchet.

Nice! Good luck with those. One thing about the SK LP90 pear head ratchets is that the direction selector is VERY “affirmative”...takes more force than many people like (but hey, you won’t accidentally change direction by brushing across something, so that’s nice). Some people have apparently tweaked the internals to make the selector less stiff, but ultimately I decided to pass on these ratchets for this reason.

I’m still tempted by the shorty deep offset wrenches, there’s basically no other premium option for those, but they’re a pretty situational tool and I happen to have snagged some other wrenches today (also a fleeting deal) so I’m reluctant to buy more. :D

The sale puts their prices pretty much in line with the HF Icon line :deadhorse:lol: I couldn't pass them up either. I also picked up one of those ratcheting flare nut wrenches (7/16") to play with since I'd never seen one in person before. Probably too bulky to get at the brake bleeders and line fittings for most of the things I end up working on, but if it saves me from tearing up one fitting it'll pay for itself, so I may as well add it to the toolbox.

It does, even in line with gear wrench. I’m not worried about the selector. We should look back in a couple years and see what we say about these and the prices.

Too bad the fathers day sale coupon code doesnt work with this one but makes sense since already so heavily discounted.

Pretty hard to pass up on the new 90t 3/8" flex ratchet for $44 and free ship with free membership. The 1/4" 90T non flex is only $25 but not in stock.

https://sktools.com/80290-3-8-drive-lp90-flex-head-ratchet-11-in.html

EDIT: I'm finding no stacking on coupon codes is allowed and no codes are working at all for the 90T ratchets, Wished "Donuts" was still working, Dadday20 is not working either.

For those that aren't familiar with how the SK order fulfillment system works - I placed my order on Monday the 14th, the shipping box says shipped on the 17th, package arrived via FedEx today (Sunday the 20th). No email updates or any indication on my SK account page that there had been any activity at all after the order acknowledgement email was sent and card was charged. My order was short one piece (the 10" cannon pliers) which, if past history is any indication, will arive in the next day or two in a 3' X 3' box. The above is all par for the course based on my orders over the last two years. Just an FYI for those who haven't experienced it.

I ordered the 1 x 1 1/8 (non ratcheting) flare nut wrench as the sizes are right for many hydraulic lines and fittings.
Wrench looks a little short for my preference in photos but will see when it arrives

Against my better judgement I bought the 1/4" flex head ratchet. Wasn't thrilled with the 3/8" LP 90 I got last July on the Epstein sale.

Are the current S&D prices for the LP90 ratchets better that what the Epstein day sale?

LOL. Thanks for the heads up, it played out almost exactly like you say. Ordered last Tuesday, got the piers on Friday, ratchet showed up today in an appropriately sized box... that looked like the driver used it as a wheel chock for several days... ratchet was in perfect shape. Order still "pending" according to SK

Anyone who bought part code 1863 metric deep well socket set 13 piece for $50.
The 6 point cut that actually fits the nut/bolt is really shallow, on the 19mm socket the cut only goes down 1/2” into the socket. As the sockets go down in size the cut is shorter and shorter.

Are everyone’s cut like this?

$50? How did you manage that deal?

Has anyone had their orders shipped after the 21st? I ordered then but haven't heard anything from SK. They normally ship within a couple of days.
