Had a bit of free time today so I decided to repaint an old 1/4” tin box of an SK ratchet set

Nice! I've done some resto's on SK boxes. Still trying to find the perfect hammered color.

Nice! I couldn't find that hammered texture paint when out looking today but will keep looking.

Thanks! Between the two I think I'm close enough for restoring SK socket boxes and they don't "stand out" as repaints. They're not perfect, but close enough.

Now, if I could just find a matching dip for the old green handle coating on Diamond adjustable pliers........

The closest thing I've seen to that paint SK uses on their tin is this...

Paint with hammer paint of any color. Wait a week or two and then paint with your choice of green.

Or don't do a whisper-clean prep - and the paint will orange peel in a jiffy!

At least it does when I don't want it to.
