There used to be one based out of Peyton, CO but I haven't seen him in years probably about 2005 ish when I saw him last. I heard a rumor he traded in his S-K truck for a different tool co truck, maybe Cornwell? But those aren't real common either.

Century Trading is my local SK dealer. The SK truck still runs around the area, I actually used to see it more than the other tool trucks. wafrederick I can probably guess where you went to school. :bounce:

I have seen a few in my area in Socal just driving by somewhere, don't know who owned them or what there situation was though. Seems we have multiples of every tool truck there is within a close area around here and not to mention many more in the surrounding areas. The joys of living in Socal I guess.

Yep. There's a dealer in my area w/ a white truck with their logo on it and SK all over it. 'CAM Brother's' tools is the indee name I think. It's rather odd; they hit the tow garage like a 1/4 mile up the road but have neer stopped at our shop

Our local farm implement dealer sells s-k tools so its like an 8 minute drive to get there. Don't need a tool truck. :rocker::D

you should call up the company and have them stop by you so you can buy some good tools.

I work for the biggest Ford dealer in the area, and, I've NEVER been visted by Matco, SK, Cornwell. We only have SO and one independent. Were limited on our choices. Too bad, I think their missing alot of business!

The couple of independent trucks I see on the road here have more flames on their trucks than Brand logos aside from some Gearwrench decals.:bounce:

Pics or it didn't happen.

Last time I broke an SK socket corporate sent me to Grainger. Grainger told me to pound sand because I didn't buy the set from them. Had to return to SK for exchange. Meh.

Old thread, but I was considering starting up an SK truck in my area. Given the amount of start up costs and the estimated sales, I ruled it out.

The brand has a mixed image and questionable customer service. It's a gamble on how it will improve in the coming years. But they do make some damn nice tools!

I didn't think I would actually find a thread about SK tool trucks but I saw one yesterday and tried to snap a pic while driving.

Let me tell you, it's not easy doing it with an iPad and a sharp left turn so the picture isn't that "centered"

That pic was taken in Southern California, orange county

Wait, you spotted an SK truck in the wild and all you did was try to take a picture?

You didn't chase it down, stop him and try to buy something so you could get a tour?

Fail!

There is one around here (southern RI) - I think it's an independent as he also advertises a couple of other brands on his truck.

Same here, independent dealer, deals a lot in SK, also sell SPG Int'l boxes and various other brands of tools. The guy built a huge house and shop, so I'm guessing he's doing well or his wife has a good job or he got an inheritance loll :bounce:

Ok here is the skinney, there are only a few left and mostly in the larger areas. Here is why. Since ideal took over many of the old tool dealers lost their brand in that time period directly before the sale and directly after. Im actualy trying to get into the tool buisness. But sk is now in the process of rebuilding its mobile distribution avenue of sales.

ours comes on tusday
How would you rate yout experience on the sk truck compared to other tool dealers?
How is the truck stocked, ie mostly hard line tools or other brands like gear wrench. Im thinking about starting a tool buisness.
