I don’t know if I’m late to finding out about the new LP90 flex head and extra long ratchets but they look awesome.

The 12inch 1/4 drive looks very promising. I can only hope they make some more flex heads in longer sizes and styles.

You're a little late

There were a few threads about these before Christmas. I have the 1/4 & 3/8 flex heads. The direction switch on my 3/8 was extremely stiff, almost unusable out of the plastic wrapper. the 1/4 flex head is nice despite, its short 5 inch overall length.

Unfortunately, other people had issues with the ratchets they purchased too. see page 20 of this thread https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=361226&page=20

I had convinced myself I needed another lp90. I was seriously considering the intermediate length non flex in 3/8". But after a lot of second guessing, I ordered the Carlyle 3/8" drive locking flex. It's only an inch shorter and it's locking flex for about half what I could get the SK. I truly do like my standard 3/8 lp90 but can't justify the cost for something I really don't need, anyway and my only current 3/8" flex is the roundhead SK. I kinda wanted a low profile flex.

I have the 3/8 and 1/2 flex. Of the two, I like the 3/8 the best. The 1/2 seems like a beast though.

I really like the design but wish they kept the selector that green they had when they were first sold. I’m waiting to see what kind of soft grip they come out with and more useful sizes like 3/8 flex in 15” or 1/4 flex in 12”

I was excited. But based on FedWrench's experience (and a few others in that thread), I dropped about 3 C-notes on the new Proto 90T flex offerings (using a Zoro coupon).

Too bad because I like my 80200 standard 3/8 LP90 ratchet. Had to adjust it a bit and since it is a fine tool. SK just needs to pull it together.

I think they look very nice, but have read the issues, which is disappointing that SK couldn't iron them out. Not exactly rocket science here.

I had heard good things about the Proto 90T so ordered one to try it out. I ended up sending it back as it had lumpy backdrag. It would be be even and light and then it would catch and require a lot more force to keep moving backwards. Very dissapointing.

So far my SK 1/2 LP90 has been enjoyable to use and a really nice improvement over the 2008 Craftsman it replaced. I just hope the SK 3/8 LP90 flex that's on it's way is as good as the 1/2 and not subject to the issues others have found.
