Greetings

I picked up a near mint 1/4 ratchet but the ratcheting seemed kind of "dull" so I opened it up to see if it was lubed with thick grease. It was and now I am having trouble putting it back together. Any advice would be helpful because I dont want to break the spring. Thanks.

What specific problem are you having with the reassembly?

Well I am having trouble placing the back plate on. Their is a little bar that sticks out of the plate that has to placed in the correct position for everything to work. I am having trouble finding that position. When I place the plate, the ratchet locks up or freely spins. It was working before I took it apart.

Stud on cap goes through tip of heart-shaped spring. Tighten screw all the way down, then back it off 1/4 turn, if memory serves.

The selector is not exactly the same, but this should help. Use a little blue thread locker, the screw often comes loose.

THANKS!

Would a thin lube like super lube be the best grease for this ratchet? It was packed with a heavy grease.
