I am looking for a new wrench set and have heard good things about sk so I started browsing tooltopia and came across 3 different sets of wrenches. A 13, 14, and 15 piece set. They are all at different prices but the 15 piece set is the cheapest, which confuses me. I referenced the sk site and they all seem the same just different number of wrenches.

14 piece set

15 piece set

Anyone know something about these that I am missing?

I recently bought the SK 94549 which has a couple of "bonus" items added (thumbwheel ratchet and U-joint) that were not included with older models of the same set. Not sure why SK does that but the two added items are mentioned on the box as being "new" to the set. You might call Tooltopia just to ask what is going on.

I would consider buying a long pattern set. The standard length SK wrenches are shorter than many of the standard length wrenches offered by other brands. The long pattern SK wrenches are very nice.

It looks like Tooltopia reduces the margins on the 15 piece more than the others. The retail price is higher on the 15 piece set, but the price is lower. My best guess it's just a margin thing, they would rather move the 15 piece set and not the others. There could also be a drive towards volume on the bigger packs. With all that being said, check the SK website, they may be long pattern vs. standard there too...

Then I would definitely go long pattern, it's what I prefer, but I picked up the Craftsman Pros a while back for the $55 deal. Now I just gotta wait for the "big" module to go on sale to complete both sets. My SK standard lengths are now sort of gathering dust...

I sold my SK standard length set. After using the snap on wrenches the SK's just felt to short. I would go with the long pattern as well.

I just picked up a c-man pro metric set and I love them but I bought them used from here cause I cant see paying 100.00 for the SAE set when I can spend a bit more and sk
