Sk x frame

I got both the metric and sae sk xframes during the 4th of july sale. Prior to purchase everyone recommended it to me on a previous thread, and youtube had good things to say.

Before I use them I want to know if anyone has had problems with sealing on the ratcheting head (I typically give my tools a quick spray with carb cleaner and a wipe down after using them, plus whatever contaminants that come along with the job I'm doing)

And second do these things come pre lubbed?

Post purchase I started seeing complaints, they do look like nice wrenches and their features/design are the complete opposite of my SO fd+ so I feel like they complement them very well as far as offering alternative variations (6 end, 4 side open end, very fine tooth, no offset)

I'm pretty sure I know what most people would say, but I'd prefer to hear from someone who has used them in a professional/industrial environment on the durability.


I'm not too big on making a bunch of warranty claims and hoping the next is better than the last one. I'd rather just not use them and send them back and put that cash to a different set if their are known issues with these wrenches.

If there isnt known or common problems as far as the durability of them I'll give them a chance

I only have the SAE set, but no issues in about 3 years.
I have not lubed any of mine,and I use these when needed to compliment my other wrenchs.
I would like to pick up a loose 10mm to add to my box,but I see them sold as sets.

Circle C Supply from Kansas sells individuals, at a good price, as well. I've bought from them a few times and have had no issues.

Get some legit wipes for cleaning tools, carb/brake clean can be corrosive.

They come prelubed, heard they send repair kits if you break one.

They're pretty strong from what I've seen, and done some stuff I probably shouldn't have.

I'd love to get a set of SAE and metric but my wallet is flatter than Kansas right now.

I use an abuse mine at work all the time. I've had them for about a year. I even have used the ratcheting end as a cheater on other wrenches. I think these are the only ratcheting wrenches I've seen that are actually user serviceable if you do manage to blow one up.

I had a 10mm lock up on me. It lasted about 10 months. I took it back to my local tool store where I bought it and he replaced it. I mostly work on motorcycles FWIW.

i use mine professionally daily on big and small diesel machines. i have not broken any but ironically the ones i haven't used (such as 16mm) are a bit stiff on ratcheting end. but the usual 10-15 and 17 that are used constantly have no issues whatsoever. same with 7/16 - 3/4 used frequently tho not necessarily daily on the SAE side.

fwiw i also have the reversible Mac sets and i really don't use them much at all outside of when i need that 15 degree clearance, or a 7mm for occasional hose clamps. the SK ones are just better in my opinion.
