The front porch looks great. I’d be cautious about planting anything near the shed. If the wood stays damp, will the Smart Siding rot like Ti11 does?

My fathers shed had a couple Of rose bushes planted on the side and it stayed just damp enough to rot to the height of the bushes. This is T111. We cut about 18” off the bottom and replaced it. Knowing better the next time, I will installed Z-flashing at the joint. Something I learned here.

Almost a year late to the party. Looks good Sammm - tell your bride she did a wonderful job with the paint. How's the shed holding up?

One thing I learned about siding and sheds is that there is a cheaper/easier route and the more expensive/harder route.

Cheaper/easier: Lp Smartside panels directly to studs, its your sheathing and siding in one. Pretty much how all home stores build their sheds but they cheapen them out by doing 24" OC and 2x4 rafters.

Expensive/harder: OSB sheathing to studs with a hardie plank siding. If you do this yourself please invest in some Gecko clamps, you'll thank me later.

Halthing, howdy! I will tell her. The shed is great, but like most outbuildings I wish it was bigger! Fresh pic below.

I went the harder route and glad I did. I did buy a pair of the Gecko clamps and it made hanging the siding a breeze!
