Speaking of Pilsen - that was the last town my grandfather's unit liberated at the end of WW2. [612th tank destroyer unit]

The only thing he brought back from the war was this paperweight made of crystal. A young woman ran in front of his M18 hellcat TD (he was the driver) and he almost didn't get stopped in time. She climbed up on the thing and handed him the paperweight.

Today I disassembled the entire rear of the car. The engine, transmission, water pipes, fuel supply and may be adjustments. It will be a different system handles to shift gears and modified a number of things in the engine compartment.

Today removed damping from the door and the rear of the car (it was due to the Hi-Fi equipment) and tomorrow grind plastic coating.

Hey by the way, one of the greatest F1 drivers had one of those Skodas, and he surely drove his car just as hard as he could... just like he drove any of the vehicules he could put his hands on.

It was Gilles Villeneuve who had a Skoda.

Not sure if it's your language but here's something that talks about Villeneuve and his Skoda.

I think it was his first car and as usual, he beat the **** out of it.

V osmnácti zkusil závodit na sněžných skútrech – a velmi úspěšně, zvítězil dokonce v World Championship Snowmobile Derby. Úspěchy v menších závodech byly prakticky jediným zdrojem Gillesových příjmů. Funnily enough I was in Prague for a weekend until yesterday! I can also confirm what a lovely place it is and how good the beer and food is.

Heres a lovely foaming litre glass of Pilsner Urquell I drank whilst sat opposite the astronomical clock in the old town square at 1pm on Saturday!




And Sundays lunch, roasted pork knuckle up near the castle.



The city is a beautiful place, we had a walking tour that took us through all the back alleys and we got to see stuff like the old Communist party headquarters, the building that was the HQ of the Gestapo in WWII and lots of amazing statues and art. We spent about seven hours wandering around the old town on saturday.

Saw a lovely old racecar roar past our hotel but sadly didn't get my camera up quick enough, was blue with a fin behind the driver, I'm guessing a Skoda of some kind.

Even funnier, I was at the same place on Sunday, there was a Hare Krishna parade during the time we ate lunch. I had an original Budweiser in addition to a Pilsner Urquell which was far better that the pi$$ water they sell under that brand here in the states. I really would like to go back. My wife had been there when it was under the communists and it is amazing the transformation from those times.

No Noise Dude: Thank you for the welcome. In the Czech Republic, the quality and style of writing for young people too poor. In the Czech Republic it is divided into three camps. Ytong is the first, the second is red burnt hollow bricks (Porotherm, Heluz) and the third building wooden houses on various qualitative degrees. Ono each material has its pros and cons.

Darkmennis:Thanks. Stands are the remnants of KVH (dried wooden beam) 120 x 120mm. My car is very light, so there is no problem and no damage to the body, because the wood is soft.

Lippyp:The historic center of Prague is beautiful, we go there on a trip every year.
