Hello folks. After reading these boards for quite some time I decided to register and contribute if I can add some value to a discussion.
Background: I recently retired after a 36+ year career. The freedom is wonderful. Stress levels way down. Have a some time now to pursue old projects and think of new ones.
I am a jack of all trades type. Woodworking, Welding, Fabrication, Blacksmith, build things, break things, fix the things I break...etc.
I have a garage and a detached workshop. Been a tool guy for decades.
I like tools from the past. I have hand-me-downs from my dad and grandfather. I marvel at what men could accomplish back in the late 1800s early 1900s with just a hammer, a saw, a rule and a square.
Thank You to everyone on Garage Journal who has imparted their knowledge. Always remember: there are a lot of people who are not registered users that are helped as they search for answers to their problems. My searches would land me here quite often, and I usually went away with more info than I had before clicking the link.
I'll try to behave.
