Need just a little more info, how high of a celling and what will be the largest thing that you'll put in there. Just remember that if your installing radiant heat that you need atleast 2 more inches of form, so a 6 inch slab would need 8 inches, 2 inches for the foam.

Decide where your electrical panel will be. Lay some PVC chases - front to back BEFORE the slab is poured. Stub them up & cap them off. Use them for wiring/water/cat5, etc. Its SO much easier to snake them through the floor rather than up & across the ceiling. If you can get away with a drain, consider putting in a drain - makes wash-up very easy.

Im down south in Louisiana, Kenner to be exact about 13 miles west of New Orleans. so it doesn't get to cold around here no need for foam. or insulation. The biggest thing I will probably put in my garadge is my dads 2500 dully. The heaviest thing will be an old frontend alingment lift. And I want to say the code inforcment guy said it could only be 12 foot from ground to peak.
