My footings will have a 7" lip on either side of the concrete block. When your garage was built, was crushed stone put on top of the lip, so that the slab maintained a uniform thickness from block wall to block wall, or did you pour concrete down to the lip, creating a vertical edge of the slab that catches the lip on each side? When using insulation, the first option seems more logical to me.

Also, I am using 2" insulation under the slab. Should I also use insulation between the slab and the block walls, and if so, how thick?

Uniform thinkness with gravel over the footing. On the edge you want, not so much 'insulation' as a thin 'thermal break' like 1/2 inch thick homosote.
