I want to first start by specifying that i am not a builder with any experience, merely a DIY that learns everyday.
I recently did a repair on an exterior wall that had taken in water and was rotted. I want to fix the main issue which is the pavement level vs slab level in this area. Take note that the entire yard is paved and I cannot "realistically" redo the whole thing, so I am concentrating on this specific area.
The paving stones originally were pretty much at the height of the slab/sill plate, which is what i want to correct by lowering the ground in this area. I need to remove the old pavement that was under in order to get the correct clearance. But, it appears the slab was poured directly over it. When i removed a piece i have about 3 inches deep / 3 inches high of a hole (without diggging too much) under the slab.
I am wondering what would be your recommendations to fill this gap? Pour concrete? expansion foam? Crushed rock dust? My goal is to have my pavement about an inch lower than the sill plate in this area (not the best but it's what i can work with given the area)
