I know there's a lot of experience and knowledge on this board so I thought I would bring this question here.
My house is having some foundation issues it's 1800 square-foot house built in the early 70s on a concrete slab. With the recent drought times we have developed cracks in the walls, and doors out of adjustment. I had an estimate a while back to have a foundation leveled by a local, reputable repair facility.
The estimate was outrageous 30k plus
Recently had a 2nd estimate 15k plus
Both of these are pier systems. I have heard of mud jacking, but not familiar with the process, or the longevity of the repairs.
The real problem is this.
The house is a bit embarrassing with the cracks in the Walls
and doors out of wack. But we live on a very busy(5 lane) road, and when the house sells it will most likely be sold commercial and the house torn down so any investment on the slab is not going to help retain the value when sold
Anyone here in the business?
Suggestions and comments
Thanks
