Just a few teaser shots while I'm sitting at my 9-5 staring at spreadsheets all day. I just got the keys to this little shop last night. I'll be leasing it from a friend to run a little motorcycle shop. I will mostly be focusing on older Japanese bikes, building café racers, brats, maybe a bobber or two. I’ll also be doing some light restoration. Once things get rolling a bit I also plan to offer media blasting, powder coating, and tire service. I’ve finally hit that point in the corporate rat race where I just said screw it all, it’s time to enjoy earning a living.

The building is 19’x43’ with 10’ ceilings, an overhead crane, and a full bath. I guess it also helps that the friend I’m renting from has a little machine shop in his building right next to mine and I pretty much have free access to his equipment. I guess it also helps to have dirt cheap rent. It's not a huge space, but coming from a 13'x20' garage that's packed I'm pretty excited about everything! I’m going to do my best to keep this thread updated as progress continues. It will also help me to keep on track.

Thanks, and yeah, I'll for sure be setting up some good photo shoots of my bikes when there finished. The inside of the other buildings are pretty cool as well, will probably do some in there. Soo many people trying to sell nice bikes today don't put any effort into the photos. That little extra can go a long way.

Not much progress this weekend played in a charity hockey tournament. 5 games in 3 days kicked my but. Though I did have a sweet mullet for the weekend, sadly it's gone now. I'm going to get some more lighting up and get the sound in this week. Halloween party this Friday, then its all business. Guess my shop is kinda like a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back...

For those non believers, I really went through with a mullet for the tourney.

Thanks, the compressor is a Sanborn 5hp, 80 gal. 18cfm at 100psi. It was a CL find, called the guy within minuets of the add being up, and was over at his place picking it up about 30 min later. Had to jump fast. Still need to wire it in and plum air. The keg is gone back to the firefighters hall, but a beer fridge is in the plans. I'm kinda procrastonating on moving stuff in right now, want to make sure I have a good idea of where everything is going before filling the place up. I'm going to try and get some of my current project bikes in tomorrow just to clear out the garage at home.

Garage space looks sweet! Im sure that you will love the extra space moving up from a 1 car garage, unfortunately that's what I am stuck in now. But the good thing is if you are coming from a small shop an important thing Im sure you know is Orginization!!!

Sorry for not posting any updates. Things took a complete 180 at work and I am in the process of moving to Chattanooga, TN for work. I ended up having to get a friend to take over the lease on the warehouse. The good news however is that the house I'll be renting in Chatt for the first year has a 30x30 barn out back. Not a cool as the warehouse I had, but at least I'll be able to continue working on bikes. The move is actually a good thing, considering there are way more people that ride down here, some year round with the warmish winters.
