Slat Wall Lighting

Hey All,
Trying to figure out the best way to light my slat wall in my garage displaying my tools, I would like to use LED, and want either a blue or bright white color. What I am struggling with is how? I want something discrete and focused that I can hang directly above the wall and reflect down. Something like a light bar that has mounting brackets that can adjust angle. Any suggestions? Thanks

Google "picture light". These are lights that are wall mounted and used to illuminate art or picture frames. Is that what you mean?

If you built something like a narrow box that is used across the top of a window to hide the curtain rods, you could put that above the slatwall and use tape type LED lighting as long as you need it to be. Also, you could use the LED lighting tape that can be changed to different colors. When I say LED tape lighting, I don't mean that rope stuff in a clear plastic tube.

FWIW, Consider instead of discreet, an industrial look.
How about exposed conduit and metal boxes with outdoor style floodlight holders. Mount on the ceiling a couple of feet out from the wall. Screw in some inexpensive led PAR 30 bulbs and you'll have a striking display wall similar to a department store.

All great ideas, thanks for the input guys. I'm thinking an led rope light would be perfect for this situation, maybe if I bought some c channel aluminum and ran it along the ceiling.

Unless the grarage is completely dark, the rope lights won't throw a strong enough accent light on your tool collection. You need something with more lumens and more directional to get the wow factor I think you are looking for. Rope lights might work in a bookcase or niche display case where the lights are only a few inches from the objects you are displaying.
