Anyone here install Slatwall in their garages? We just put sheetrock up this weekend and I'm going to order Slatwall as

I've noticed various types of slatwall (at many different prices) but does anyone have a recomedation of a place they used (and where to get good shelves, drawers, etc.) that are good quality at a fair price?

Love to get feedback. Found this place online and I think their prices are reasonable...

Thanks in advance!

Due to the frequent turnover in retail store spaces, There is almost always slatwall for sale on Craigslist. I see it all the time, usually 20 to 50 bucks per panel. I might put some up in my garage, haven't decided.

I can't imagine what it costs to ship that stuff, if you buy it online.

I did my attached garage with slatwall from the top down...and the smooth "tileboard" from the floor up. I got both at Home Depot. (It's a split level so the garage ceiling is low)

I also got all my slatwall accessories at Gershell Brothers in Philly. They supply stores, the selection is amazing, prices are great. They do mail order too.

Strength is not an issue. In fact, one of the hooks was slid to a bad position and when the garage door lowered, it caught the hook. The hook bent, but the slat wall was fine. I later tried to bend the hook back...and couldn't...even in a vise!

I have to once more mention Gershell's. I think their slatwall hooks and baskets are not only priced very well, but I think made better than what I have seen for sale at HD or Lowes. I figure they have to endue a retail environment.

I have started looking to price slatwall and deals can be found on the web, but minimum quantity orders and the crating and shipping charges can add up. Don't know if I can pick up a few sheets locally or not. But I found something...

Has anyone tried the Rockler T-Slotwall Cutter Bit to make your own slatwall?

The router bit is only $35, but I'm not sure if the sweat equity is worth the savings. All slatwall boards seem to be 3/4" MDF and Matt M has tried to break his MDF slatwall with no success. Would 3/4" plywood have any advantages?

I know this will probably be opening a can of worms, but I saw the T-Bit and started to visualize power tools and sawdust...

I bought a case of 12" shelf brackets on ebay for my slatwall, 18 bucks for a case of 25 brackets. Absolutely love it. Some people choose to use pegboard brackets, they do work but you can be sure to screw up the slat wall with those. Lowe's has slatwall in the paneling section, and brackets too, but they're way overpriced on the brackets. Ebay is the best bet for those.

I bought all my hooks, shelf brackets and document holders from Storesupply.com. Killer price and quick shipping. Slatboard is in stock at my local Menards for under 40 a sheet.

The slatwall always works out great for me...used it before and have it all over my new shop
