GJ sledders, lets see your storage ideas to get that snowmobile up and out of the way during those summer months or when its not in use.

I've got an old sled that i'll be restoring over the next couple years and buying a new one for this coming season. Floor space is limited so I'd like to see what you guys have done to store them. I'll be starting on fabbing something up in the next few days and would appreciate some ideas.
Cheers!

Mine just takes up room in the garage.
What sled are you restoring?

My brother inlaw is in the middle of a '73 TNT.
Fun projects.

I've got my pop's old '77 RV340, that little thing used to rip back in the day, hopping to spend some time on freshening it up over the winter.

Board member akdiesel built a neat lift for storing stuff like sleds: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34840

Thanks, i'll have a read through, I had a quick search before posting up and that one didn't come up.
Cheers guys!

This interests me, just traded an 84 Honda TRX200 for a 88 Polaris Indy 400. Currently it is out in front of the garage with a beautiful HF blue tarp covering it, LOL. I definitely have to find a place for it, come on snow!!

My neighbor built a mezinine in the back of his garage. He also built a pallet to put the sled on. Then he forks the pallet with his tractor and puts the sled up there for the summer. I just put mine on some sled dollies and push it in the corner.

Here is my bike going up. The platform is 4x8. I do the switch every spring and fall to keep the clutter out of the shop and everything safe. I don't have one of the sled but you get the idea.

Excellent! Thanks for the pics and ideas. After about a dozen beers I came up with a solution...I have an I-beam in my shop and decided to build a fold down shelf for the sleds on either side of the walls just under the beam and use the chain block to hoist them up and pull them onto the shelf. I've got some 2x2x1/4" square tube that i'll anchor to the walls and top plate. A little steel, a little welding and we'll see how it turns out.
Cheers!
