Sledgehammer question

I got this for metal work and use under the car.
So I choose 8 lb and 24" handle
Do you think the specs are ok (I do not have a lift).

I read on here that control is better with a shorter handle. I wasn't sure when I pulled it out of the box just holding it, but I used it to beat on some 1/4 steel and seems that I can control it well.
I am glad I did not get it be heavier one though.

Also it says don't hit anything more than 46hrc.

I know what Hrc means but does that mean the hammer will be damaged,
Is there not bits in concrete that are harder than 46?

Although I am not using this to bust concrete.

About the only time I use a sledge is to bust concrete. 10-12 lbs and a full size handle. I also have a 4 lb "engineer's hammer" and a 5 lb plastic dead blow.

Eight pound and 24 inch handle for working under a car? That would be a real treat to try to swing, but anyway...

I don't actually anticipate on having use it much on the car.. where I am located stuck wheels is not really a problem. I thought it may be good to have even if it would be a shortened light taps. I do have lighter assortment of deadblow hammer and engineer hammer that is 3 lbs

The reason for purchase is for straightening and bending steel.

I have a bash hammer 24 inch handle with a 4 lbs head. It works great for under car work easy to swing.
