I'm having trouble finding a sleeve bushing to save a friend's furnace blower.
Grainger has oilite bronze bushings but the original has lubricating groove and a slot for the felt wick to contact it.
Any help finding a source or if simply substituting the oiled bronze is an acceptable repair
Thanks

Consider graphite based bushings to eliminate the concern of oil loss.

High-Temperature Graphite-Lubricated Sleeve Bearings

Made of a graphite and metal alloy, these bearings stay slippery at high temperatures where oil burns off and other bearings fail. With no need for refills, they require little to no maintenance. You’ll find them in pumps, propellers, and mixers that spin near steam or inside ovens. However, graphite may eventually flake off, dropping flecks and leaving smudges. If you need a ****-and-span space, consider dry-running bearings made of slippery plastic instead. All are fabricated, lubricated, and inspected in the U.S.

Thanks guys!
I need to get my mitts on a McMaster-Carr catalog. I wonder if they still have a print version.
Days before the internet, those catalogs were like gold! People would keep 10-15 year old catalogs until they could be replaced. Old ones became hand-me-downs.

The online catalog is good as long as you know the search word.

They do but I think you have to be a pretty good ($$$) customer to get one. I have one about 5 years old. Their website is actually very easy to use. I prefer it over the print catalog most of the time.

If you are in Chicago there almost has to be an electric motor repair shop in the area. I would take it there and see what they have. What are the dimensions ?? Here is some of what McMaster has:

Missing, presumed dead in central Pa.
My son’s furnace blower quit several years ago at 11:00 pm on a Saturday. It had been noisy and he put off checking it out. We took it apart and polished the bushing area of the shaft on my lathe. We swapped the end caps, the squirrel cage end bushing was worn from the overhanging load.
We re-oiled it with Mobil spindle oil and it ran silently for years. It wasn’t the correct repair but we did what we could at that time of night and his Wife and girls were warm.
