Hello everyone - new to the forum and looking for any advice/experience with these coatings in an exterior setting.
Project involves a 700sq poured slab exposed patio with southern exposure in MN so 4 extreme seasons of weather. The patio slab sits on a garage with block walls and spancrete over the walls so assuming hydrostatic pressure isn't an issue. Current condition of the slab in 2-3 layers of failing exopy.
My goal is to remove existing coatings and replace with a UV resistant long lasting coating that will seal the concrete against water intrustion and look good for many years.
1st bid - Prepare garage floor for application which includes repairing any cracks, chips, and spalling. •Grind the floor with our commercial grade diamond grinders which are attached to our vacuum system. This process insures a solid bond of Slide-Lok’s Polyasparticcoating into your floor.•Apply the Slide-Lok Polyaspartic floor coating system. This is a two-coat (all Polyaspartic)process and consists of a Tancolor priming coat followed by another color priming “bed coat” with full Coffee or 12-174chip broadcast. The final clear coat is then applied. cost is $5,600 and limited lifetime warranty against against any yellowing fading or color change of the clear sealer due to the effects of UV sunlight oroverhead lighting andagainst failures to bond to the concrete, peeling, flaking, chipping or excess wear and tear and excessive loss of gloss of the clear sealer, labor for these situations is also covered under the warranty.
2nd bid - Prep concrete as needed to receive flexible coating system; grind out cracks and repair with flexible joint/crack repair. Install primer coat, flood coat of "liquid rubber base", flake coat and topcoat with 2 coats of polyaspartic or polyurea (application dependent). Customer to select flake color/size. (Additional cost for flakes under 1/8") a flexible flood coat that will absorb slabmovement and prevent the possibility re-cracking Cost is $8,400 and similar warranty.
Any one have experience with these systems and thoughts on whether the graniflex with LRB is worth the extra $$? I can also sve myself significant cost by doing the prep work but am leaning towatrds letting a proffesional do that so there are no issues.
Thanks!
