I am in the market for a sliding mitre saw that can cut 6 inch (150mm) thick material in one go. I am not worried about cost and am willing to buy whatever that is up to the task. Does anyone know if any manufacturers make anything that can cut this type of thickness in one go?

The only saw that I can think of is a 15" Hitachi. It's not a slider. A 12" saw would come close, but not quite. It's not super hard to line up after flipping over. Just slide down without pulling trigger.

An old Rockwell / Delta radial arm saw will come close. Used only. Or if you want new …

we had a "Pendulum Saw" at work that would cut 8"x8" in our crating dept
but it was a beast of a machine
google the above and lots of stuff comes up
Also, they make Radial Arm saws to cut 6"x6" but not portable

If a portable device is needed, they make chainsaws with a fixture
that can cut 6x6's

You're going to need at least a 14" blade to cut that deep. That eliminates miter saws. Look for a commercial radial arm. They come up occasionally used.

Even the 14" miter saws wont cut 6". The Hitachi is 15" and only listed as being able to cut 4.75"x7.5"

The 14" omga saws are similar in that they won't cut more than 4.5" of depth either

As mentioned, if you for whatever reason (accuracy, large number of repetitive cuts, etc.) need a stationary saw, then a big (used) radial arm saw is probably going to be your only real option. If a handheld solution is acceptable, then I would (and do) use one of the 16 5/16" circular saws- Makita and Skilsaw being the most prominent options.

Six inch stock is going to take a huge blade, the 20” Original Saw RAS only does 6 1/4” deep. We had one of those in high school, the Dewalt long arm version. If this is a wishlist thing I’d start with a 16” circular saw like listed above and keep your eyes out for a big RAS for sale used.

If you can get by with a circular saw instead of a miter saw I think this skil would meet your needs

Besides a portable beam saw like the Skil or Makita, you need a Radial Arm Saw w/ a 20" blade

SCM
Original Saw Co
Stromab
King
Maggi
and maybe a few Asian mfg offer a blade in the 20"/800mm territory

Good luck
