sliding storage that hangs from the ceiling

I am thinking of building a storage cabinet that hangs from the ceiling. I would 24" wide 24" deep and 4ft tall. I was thinking of using pocket door track and rollers. here is a pic of how I came up with idea. has anyone done this? any sugestions?

I don't see the advantage of hanging it.
Casters would be easier and have no structural questions.

Not exactly what your thinking about but maybe a useful alternative that could be customized to your needs.

I want to keep floor space to store my table and miter saw under it.

I think the slide-out units are a great idea. You need to make a frame that is capable of hanging that kind of weight from, and not just hang it from your joists/trusses. Similar to how the second picture you posted shows it, supported by posts,

I built hanging shelves in my shop - also to preserve floor space. Enclosed with drawers would be nicer, but beyond my wood-skill level! Soffit enclosures would be the way I'd go.

You could always use rolling barn door track and hardware from tractor supply for the heavier shelves.

Pallet rack uprights and cross beams with the tracks attached to the beams. If you shop around the beams are available in all different lengths, the uprights in various heights (and to a degree, can be cut to height) and also are available in various depths. Add short high strength casters to the pallet rack feet and the whole thing is mobile for cleaning or re-organizing.

As already noted, barn door track, or even unistrut, would make good overhead track with the right carriages.

Lots of different designs, here is just one. Looks expensive but I'll bet some shopping around will find them cheaper (Fastenal will deal with you if you ask)

May sound strange, but Ikea Kitchen cabinets may be an option. It is usually quite good quality and they are very versatile in terms of optional kit for organizing things.
You could cut that on in halves.
