Small 1951 Snap ON toolbox

Hi , I am assembling a 1951 Snap on Midget socket set. I am currently looking for the KR-255 box that holds the set. An eBay seller has one for sale that has no writing on the back , he claims they didn’t have writing and dates till the mid 1950’s on these small boxes. Is this true ? I cannot find anything online.

Correct on the larger full size boxes. I've never seen dates on smaller ones.

FWIW, I have several midget sets from the 40's and none of the boxes have any markings (model number or date code) on the back, just "Snap-on Socket Wrenches" embossed on the lid. I don't think they even gave the box a model number until 1948. So he may very well be correct.
