I recently scored a compressor like this http://www.gastmfg.com/product_detail.aspx?ProductID=357&ProductTypeID=33 for $30 and 2 hours of driving. I plan to use it for airing up car tires and odd jobs around our apartment. It's in great shape and just needs a replacement regulator/filter as the bowl is cracked. Already bought a new one and installing it today. My question is if there is any way to clean the inside of the 2 gallon tank as there is some crud built up as it looks as if it wasn't drained frequently. I could care less about any surface rust as that is the nature of the beast, just wanting to get any loose crud out of the tank. I am replacing the stock drain plug with a 1/4 turn ball valve and was thinking of tilting the compressor back and pour some white vinegar into the tank, let it sit a few hours and drain it. Then air it up and blow as much as possible out of it. Thanks for any ideas.
