here is a small amount of my snap on screw drivers. i just pulled them out, inspected them and put them back away again :(

i believe the black bit driver is the rarest. you be the judge. i have not seen one before.

i have a story for each one (just ask). only a few were passed on to me from my dad and the rest were pennies on the dollar so to speak.

I've always wondered why they are so pricey on Ebay. Snap on currently has a newer style of these that they sell and I also wondered why they're worth so little in comparison.

i just called my dad and told him to stop using all his hard handled snap on screwdrivers. he has a pick/awl set of the light blue color and various orange and red handled screwdrivers

The light blue are the rarest and worth some $$. I would use the other colors and enjoy them.

I'm not sure how rare the black drivers are but they are a few years old. I have the same one that y dad gave me for christmas in 1978.

I also have a mint black handle with reversable bit like the one that was one ebay.... I need to stop using it, hahaha. I borrowed from my father knowing I would never give it back as I liked it. Does that make my a bad person? He knows I took it but never asked for it back. As much as I would like to make money off of my tools, I buy them to use them, :lol_hitti

Hi everyone. First post.

I've got one of the quarter inch hex drivers very similar to the one pictured. Only difference is mine is stainless all the way to the handle. Part # SSDM40B. I think I've destroyed any collector value in mine. Been using it for deburring holes with a 1/4 hex countersink since I got it used in the early '90's.

Blue and pink are by far the rarest. They did make a few pink hard handle screwdrivers. Regular screwdrivers (not ratcheting)

The special editions bring less money. Just because a person likes hard handle tools doesnt mean they also like ducks, Nascar, anniverseries, ETC. Less demand.

On another note: most of the hard handle stuff being sold on Ebay and bringing the $$ is going to Japan. For some reason the hard handles are worth mega bucks in Japan. If you watch the hard handles that sell for crazy $$ it is always the same few bidders/buyers that win the auctions. All from Japan. Get them out of the loop and the prices will fall sharply.

Ok you posted a link to a ebay page?

How does that have anything to do with my comment above????

I collect Plomb tools, but I still use them. A tool is made to be used...PERIOD.

Why use a 123 dollar screwdriver because its blue? I would sell it and buy a whole set of screwdrivers. And still have  $$ leftover.

Are those older reversible screwdrivers worth a lot? Are they rare? I have a black handled one. Never seen another color.

It's an excellent screwdriver BTW if anyone wants to know. It's in my road box.

i still do use them for indoor projects without getting them dirty. i have had both of them for years and never gave it much thought. i thought brand new for that handle plus the blade was like $50 or somthin. list price for the blade is like $20 somthing.

they are both going in the display cabinet for now on. if they loose value then i can still use it and enjoy it

are those nut drivers like the one on the lower right of the first pic good or valuble? A local pawn shop has 4 of them for $40. I have never used nut drivers but if they are decent, I will tryto get them for $30-35.
