Small crack / pitting repair prior to Rust Bullet?

Hi all:

I am planning on laying down Rust Bullet on my 20 year old garage floor in 6-8 weeks, and wanted some advice (well in advance) on how to address some imperfections in the floor.

My floor covers a typical 3-car garage space and has no expansion joints. There are some minor surface cracks and areas of pitting throughout. I want to smooth these areas and fill the cracks prior to applying Rust Bullet.

What would be the most cost-effective products for doing this that will not impact adherence of the RB? Or, cause a different sheen/look to the RB in the treated spots?

Here is an example of the minor surface cracks and pitting, along with a utility knife for reference.

Going to go with 2 coats of base with 2 coats of white (with traction additives, but no color chips).

OK so here is the deal. Often when people are asking me about the differences between epoxy and Rust Bullet, one example I will give is covering damage to an existing floor.

A good epoxy will be a relatively thick system. Thick is not always better, but here, a very high solids to 100% solids epoxy would do a better job covering your repair job. If you feel you can do the repair job well enough, then what I would suggest:

hand grind the area.

Use our patch kit or Rustoleum Pro ( repair kit) from a local supplier
Let it cure completely, lightly sand and wipe with denatured alcohol. Then coat

Thanks for ^^. I am looking for simpler prep so am shying away from epoxy. I've done a large VCT floor in my prior house and was considering that for this floor as well until I read up on RB.

I saw the concrete patch kits on your site (TLPATCH) -- assume that is what you recommend here? Can the same material be used by trowel for surface cracks and pitting/spalling? How long does it take to fully cure (before coating with RB)?

Depending on depth TL818 Concrete Repair Patch & Concrete Filler: Covers up to 1000 lft / gallon based on 1/8″ crack will work better for this application.
