Picked this up a week ago on Offer Up. I paid 25 bucks for it. When I came across it I had to have it. I was just curious as to what they were originally sold for? Small tools or was it sold as a gimmick item? Also the second thing I would like to get either a new lock or new keys made for it. Do I contact sears with the number on the lock or do they even make new lock sets for this box?

They should have the locks in the store, at least 6-8 years ago they did when I needed one. A friend of mine had that little side box back in the mid 90s. Had it on the side of his 26" cabinet

They have those behind the counter at my Sears. They have the ratchet rebuild kits stores in them

It was listed as a 6 drawer tool caddy as part number 65203 in the 1997-1998 Craftsman tool catalog with a list price of $74.99.

they changed the part number to 961913 in the 2007 catalog, changed the size to 7 7/8 wide x 12 deep x 15 1/8 tall and added the colors blue & black, along with raising the price to $79.99.

Definitely not a gimmick. They are actually pretty handy as a small parts box. I use mine for things like bulbs, fuses, hardware, etc. It keeps the junk out of the tool box.
They also make an excellent bench top box for tools. I think you did good even without the keys.

I have one, too. They were a box accessory like any of the intermediates or side cabinets. The locks can be bought with new keys from Sears or online... Also from Sears.

I saw what looked like a tool caddy on my local craigslist. Never seen one in person - just in the catalogs Sears use to send out. So I did a google search on images and it brought me to this thread. I made note of the part number (white sticker) from the op from 3 years ago. The one for sale had the same part number.

Due to google images I even found one on ebay that sold for crazy money.

So I bought it.

I have been looking for one of these for years now. Would love to get my hands on one to add to my tool cart. Like many have said it’s perfect for all the small stuff. Pens, pen lights, small ratchets and extensions.

Picked one up in March, had the keys, instruction sheet & rubber feet still with it - $20

I have attached a scanned copy of the instructions (did some cleanup on the scanned image, still not perfect but much improved)

The rubber bumpers & their dimensions are in the other attachment.

If anybody would like a full resolution copy of the scanned image contact me via PM with your email address.

For the next 95203 google searcher, here is the parts list I obtained from Waterloo.

Hey Tool Pants.. Is that a 26'' craftsman, bottom box in the second pic in post #10?

I just inherited one of these small side boxes from my Dad, along with a 9 drawer lower box,a top, and side cabinet. I can't believe these little boxes are selling for what they are. They are very nice and handy.
