Small engine crankshaft adapters...how tight/loose should they be?

Some time ago I picked up one of the Chinesium gas powered wood chipper/shredders to handle the overgrowth on my property, and after forgetting to check the oil level this year...I ended up with a nifty 5HP paperweight  Like many, I picked up one of the HF Predator engines to replace it, only to find that the Predator engine has a 3/4" crankshaft, whereas the bad engine has a 1" crank.

Sure, I could get on Amazon and just buy the $15 adapter that most do such as this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PVNW2F4/?tag=atomicindus08-20
but hey...I have a lathe in the garage along with PLENTY of appropriate sized steel stock and key stock, so why not just make one? Only problem..I'm not sure what size to make this thing, other than a nominal 3/4" ID and 1" OD. Should I be shooting to match the exact measured OD of the new engine crank and ID of the chipper flywheel? A couple thousands over/under to make it an easy slip fit, or the other way to make it a slight interference fit?

The flywheel came off the old engine very easily, seemingly only being retained by the bolt on the end of the crank and the key in the crank. I haven't actually measured the OD of the old crank/ID of the flywheel to see how close they are, but then I'm also not sure I should trust the Chinesium quality control on something like this either, lol.

In a perfect world, it would be a slight press fit on the crankshaft and a tight slip fit in the chipper flywheel.

Like you, I love to make things, but for $11.39 delivered, I wouldn't even start.

Buy the adaptor you linked to and measure it for proper dimensions when it arrives in 2 days and then make your own.
You'll be getting a sleeve with a KEYWAY already it, as well as a STEPPED KEY, 2 things you can't make on a lathe :scared:

wait wait, um, just use the one with a stepped key and keyway that just arrived after only 2 days :dunno:
:rocker:
.
EDIT: Load it up loctite everywhere during assembly.
