I have a log splitter that I inherited that the engine was locked up. I removed the cylinder head and soaked it with ATF and WD40 and got it to loosen up but it is not as free as it should be and I suspect that the rod may be galled causing it to be tight. The problem is I cannot find any form of manufacturer identification any where on the engine at all. In fact the only ID I can find is on the flywheel shroud adjacent to the spark plug reading HM80-155162E Serial # 0171D .I am kind of assuming that it is an 8 horse engine due to the HM80 and the fact that it has a 1" shaft. Does anybody have an idea on the manufacturer so I can search for parts. It was my father's splitter and I want to get it running again. Thanks
