Small Grinder

Evening folks,

Been practicing my welding as of late and I did a small repair a couple days ago on my snowblower where I had to weld both sides of the front bucket.

Grinding down the weld on one side with a flap disc was quick and easy. On the other side, however, I could not get my 4" electric grinder where I needed it as it was too large. So, instead I used an air powered die grinder with the coarsest scotch brite wheel I could find. This wasn't suitable for the job as it really just polished the weld more than anything.

Could anyone recommend an attachment for my die grinder that could do as good of a job as the flap disc?

Sorry, I meant to include that.......I used a roloc disc on my die grinder with the coarse material (brown I believe).

In my metal fab days I had always dreamed of a ccw grinder or cut off wheel. Not to derail the ops thread.

Pick up some coarse sanding discs for the roloc. 2 inch and maybe 36 grit. that will get in there and grind it out quick. Carbide "christmas trees" are nice but you need a good die grinder. No junk.No vibration.

I've got the 2" Sunex pneumatic grinder. It's saved my *** a few times when I had to have it.
