so, is there such a thing?

the seat recliner handle on the passenger side of the pickup broke. whose idea it was to use a plastic piece there? looking at it, it occurs to me that the right answer might be to get a spline socket, and a small fixed head breaker bar and just replace it with that, but i am obviously unskilled in figuring out what the search term should be to find a non-swivel head breaker bar.

sure, i could get a swivel one, and weld it in position, but i would prefer to get the right tool for the job, eh?

your help would be appreciated.

thanx, i appreciate the suggestions . . . . . . .

an ELL tool like the wiha will stick out way to far. the sliding t handle is better, but suffers from a similar issue to a traditional breaker bar, making the head not move.

Most T handles are spring loaded to keep the head in place. If that is not strong enough, disassemble and tap the spring insertion hole (see picture). Then reassemble and clamp in place with a set screw.

Take a look at Facom sliding T-bar, they have a locking groove and flush fit end.

A piece of 1018 cold rolled round is probably $2-5 depending on where you buy it and the diameter in question.

A finished chromed tool with alloy steel & likely some of it heat-treated is going to be in the $40+ range....I suppose you can flea-market one but it might not be exactly what you want.

Just saying you can probably do this a bit cheaper and still have all of the functionality.

A junk yard for one would probably be the cheapest and easiest option... i would imagine it's either bolted on or held on with some spring clip. I think it's being over thought too much...

It's an adapter for a wrench. It allows you to use a box end wrench to turn a socket in tight areas

Just FYI, those are pinlock on the square drive....and need an impact or other socket with a hole, if you ever want to take the socket off.
