Mine looks pretty much like the one above although these are old pictures and it is better organised now. I might get out later on and take some fresh pictures. Only car it ever had in it since I've owned it was a dismantled Triumph Spitfire that I later sold regretfully to fund buying my 67 Chevy C10. That would maybe just about fit in if there was absolutely nothing else in there at all but that aint ever going to happen! At the moment it has a ride-on mower awaiting estoration for my folks too. I've also added more storage since these pictures in the shape of a repurposed pine wardrobe with extra shelves in but thats been filled with DIY tools moved out from the house and some more shelving across the end

The outside, its a sectional concrete job with a single pitched wriggly tin roof and is tucked up right next to my house. It does have power and lights fitted by me, a small halogen electric heater and a dehumidifier to stop it raining in there in cold damp weather as the condensation on the underside of the uninsulated tin roof used to get really bad.

We've been trying to sell the house and move for 3 1/2 years now but the market is so depressed over here nothing is shifting. Next house will have a big garage/barn/workshop big enough to get my cars in. I'm getting too old to work in the rain on a gravel drive.

Cool thread. My 12x18 is too stuffed with stuff, to even get into it to photo, and it's blocked outside by an Airstream trailer, but one project this spring is to make it usable. Right now it's full of woodworking equipment and wood and junk. Also the roof leaks and the plaster on metal lath ceiling has fallen down in part of it. I'll take some before photos.

Here's one looking from the house into the garage. Can't get through the door. Ceiling falling down on right. Built in shelves on left. This one will be a dramatic change when completed.

Mine's a 2 car, but not in much better shape! ;)

Man I hate having to always drag things outside to get anything done.....I guess thats what happens when you have too much going on.

Like wood working, and automotive, and to include metal working. Then to add not any room to branch out or add on, nor the money to do any such thing as that.

Oh well, guess we do what we can with what we have! ;)

Thanks for sharing guys! Don't forget, theres a bunch of us in the same boat!

Mine comes from collecting too much ****. I built 7 sheds for all the extra stuff. Time to use it or lose it. Either that or go on hoarders. I want my house back. Starting to sort and toss and shove stuff outside. Trouble is, the yard is the same way. Starting to use the dumpsters to rid myself of unusable stuff.

I have a rule; if it's used in the yard, its not in the garage. I have a shed for that stuff. The garage is only for car related things, not a workshop for planting bulbs. My wife has the rest of the house which I don't really care about (decorating), so this is the Alamo for my things.

I think that is what takes up so much space in my garage, lawn mowers, pitch-forks, shovels, etc. The kids go-kart, the boat, all the snow tires....his lawn mower for his summer jobs....had to get the kids bikes out of there just to get the boat in there....sheesh!

Then I have the table saw, two air compressors, the waste oil barrel....you name it.

Here's some more updated pictures of my 13x24'....

Everything is good as long as I'm working on the car but as soon as I start on anything else I have to go around it for tools and other stuff.
Earlier I had the workbench along the longest wall to the right and then I could put the car all the way in and work on other stuff in the garagedoor area but then it was to litle space to work around the car :wtf:
Maybe the best thing to do would be to put the workbench and cabinets on the sidewalls right inside the garagedoor.....:headscrat

Hey bczygan, I see you have a lot of wood in your garage. Where do you live? I have some leftover oak that's sitting in a hallway right now and it's starting to bug me there, but I don't want to keep it in the garage. I live in Chicago so it's cold and damp out there. I'm not an expert but I think the cold garage could possibly warp the oak and render it useless. Do you experience this problem?

Maybe I just need to zip it and build something out of the scraps already!

My garage served as a vintage motorcycle and race car build shop until I ran out of space for all the vehicles.

I like these little old Honda CB/CL 160s, and restored a few, including a street bike. Like I said, I was running out of space. But my wife is awesome enough to tolerate having a motorcycle in the living room, atop an antique Persian carpet, no less! With a living room like that, who needs a man cave?

Despite having only a one car garage, I continued to collect vehicles. It was more like they followed me home. Like this homely little thing in need of TLC. Poor thing was a stalled project sitting in my neighbor's garage untouched for 25 years:

Like I said a few posts back, I ran out of space. So I found this lift on craigslist for a relatively cheap sum. After some research (it has no markings or tags), I learned it's a Harding Steel lift, all galvanized, and I believe made in the USA. Even has a Baldor motor. So good-bye shop, hello storage facility:
