I was at a steel yard and asked about an American Scale vise off to the side (wanted too much). Another customer heard me and said he had a vise for sale. So I had a look and for $10, couldn't resist picking up this small Parker that is marked No. 123 1/2. It has 3 1/2" jaws and weighs 16.5 lbs.

I'm not a Parker collector so if someone out there could use this in their collection, I'm open to offers. Send me a PM. I can't find any references to this model -- anybody know about this little guy?

I cleaned it up a bit. The lead screw has slop so needs some attention. The way it's secure inside looks strange so me with deliberate nicks to raise a few burrs to hold in a retaining collar.

If nothing else, it's cool looking.

I have one exactly the same model that was from my grandfather. Yours is in better shape, but it still beats the HELL out of the cheap **** one can buy at Harbor Freight. I'm going to clean mine up and mount it so I can use it. Thanks for posting as it made me look at mine to be sure it was in fact the same.
