I picked up a nice little glass block that was laser etched and decided I wanted to bottom light it.
here's the light

I used some old Oak scrap and cut it on the table saw.

trace around block for a router guide

used a router and chisel to get a somewhat decent cut out.(not perfect)

nail and glue the blocks together. Drill hole for 3/4" switch

remove material in the bottom for wiring room and switch access.

rough marking of center of skull. Drill 5mm holes for the LED's

Fitting/wiring the LED's. I had to remove some more material to give me more room.

Tomorrow I will pick up a small mirror for the top so there's not a spotlight on my ceiling.. LOL

good job, is there spotting from the leds? I know some people use a diffuser

I used 30 degree focused LEDS and set them down in the well so the light could expand. Since the block is clear, it does leave a beam on the ceiling. Ill just stick a small mirror on the top to block it
