Small shop vac

I already have a Bosch shop vac that I am very happy with. I want to keep it in the main house/basement/garage. For my detached single garage I would like to find something very light and portable and small, 2G or so would do. Just something small that takes up minimal space and can clean up a small work area. Anyone have any recommendations, an Armorall unit keeps popping up on searches.

Hi Norm, Happy new year!

Myself, I recommend the Ridgid 4-gallon shop vac. It comes with nice quality hose and attachments, and a powerful motor. You can pick it up at Home Depot for around $50 IIRC

I received the small Stanley shop vac as a b'day gift and I find myself using it for everything. It usually stays inside the house because its small enough to fit anywhere for storage. Pretty powerful for the size and its just perfect after doing small projects inside to clean up.

I have used a stinger for many years.
At about $30 new they are hard to beat.
Only 2.5 gallons and the filters are so-so but you can get a small canister vacuum bag to fit around the ball/cage if you need more filtration.
Easy to carry, long cord and good price.
I have looked at those wall mount units which are great , I just couldn't justify the price.

The all round best "little" shop vac I've ever had. Powerful, Wet/Dry and best of all it doesn't tip over when you pull it by its hose. Sits low and isn't top heavy - large wheels on the rear keeps it stable, as you force it over bumps or obstacles.

If you want them or need them - several Kits and Options are available. Even a good "muffler"..

I bought some little blue thing at Target for $20 to put on the blast cabinet. It pulls so hard it can yank the gloves off the mounts.

My wife wanted a small shop vac for Christmas to use in the house in places that were not easy to get to with her sweeper. Since I'd already got her other things including a new aluminum horse trailer, I got her a Ridgid 4 gal. model at Home Depot. She likes the sturdy handle and the 1 7/8" hose.
