I have a very small sink in my mud room, too small to accommodate the gallon or half gallon pump jugs that I used to use at the old place. So, I am thinking that a small wall mounted dispenser might be a decent solution, but so far everything I have found is either monstrously huge or kinda flimsy looking

What I would like to find is something that fits flatter to the wall, but can still handle a pumice cleaner like fast orange or similar. Ideally it would not require special bag/box refills that are only available by the 4pack, and I am sure the little woman would appreciate it if it did not look like I hijacked it from a truckstop. I have attached a pic of the micro area we are working with...

So, what soap dispensers are y'all using and what do you like /dislike about them?

There are pumps that fit in a hole you drill in your sink top. They hold a pint to a quart and only the pump head is seen, the container is under the sink.
12 bucks or so at a box store. They should be next to the drain plugs and drains adapters.

It appears to be cultured marble.
You just drill a hole.
If I'm wrong and it is indeed porcelain, someone here will give you the knowledge you need. It's easy, I'd just rather you heard it from someone who has recently done it.
And with my suggestion you're not married to one product. You put in it what you like.

The drilling all depends on what the sink is made of.

SS I use a carbide hole saw with a sulpher based cutting oil.

Porcelain over cast or marble a diamond hole saw with spray bottle of water with a few drops of dawn dish liquid

in all cases drill slow.

And dependent on what you are putting in it, you have to remove the lower part to fill it when it runs dry. Total PITA. Have one in the kitchen, I hate it.

I bought some aquarium tubing, and aquarium check valve. Remove the bottle and straw that comes with the dispenser, drill a close tolerance hole in the cap of your desired soap. Place the soap below your sink, insert the hose into the soap bottle cap, install the check at the soap bottle, and press fit the hose to the pump.

Once primed the check keeps the pump from losing prime, and you never need to refill the dispenser again.

I have a real sturdy hand soap dispenser from "ZEP". Sorry don't have a pic.
I got mine for free when they had a promo for it with a purchase of a case of hand cleaner (6 gallons).

Did this and it works great...
